Welcome to Buxton Cycling Club, sponsored by Sett Valley Cycles.

We ride time trials, road races, the track, cyclo-cross and other off-road events, as well as sportives. Each year we promote a full programme of races, hosting the National Hill Climb Championships on Long Hill in 2011. We have had good success in hill climbs, winning the team prize in the 2012 Championships.
For the latest discussion on club runs and other events see the club's Facebook Group.

Buxton CC Dinner:

The annual Buxton CC Dinner and Prize Presentation will take place at the Lee Wood Hotel in Buxton on Saturday 1st February 2019. Further details will be provided nearer the time.

Llandudno Rides:

Mat Ivings is organising a club two-day cycle trip on 12/13th October. The plan is to set off early Saturday morning, ride out to Llandudno, stay in a hotel, eat and have a beer, cycling back home on Sunday. Depending on interest there will be two routes:
- A steady group doing about 160 km including the excellent Chester cycle path with a few hills on the way out and a similar but slightly flatter route home on Sunday.
- The more adventurous group will do around 230km on Saturday including some challenging hills and about 170km on Sunday.
The plan would be for the two groups to meet at the first cafe (Tarporley?) on Saturday and then again in Llandudno. Note that riders will need to book their own accommodation in Llandudno, but Mat can advise on suitable places to stay. For more information please get in touch at

Club Runs:

Club runs will take place every week on Sunday mornings, setting off from the Edinburgh Woollen Mill Shop, Buxton at 9:00. Pace will be steady (average 14-15mph) with a cafe stop at around half-way. Rides will be about 50 miles.
Other road rides take place on various days particularly during the winter and you can find details here or by joining the Facebook Group. At the moment there are usually rides on Wednesday evenings and Thursday mornings.
MTB rides will also usually be listed here and/or on the Facebook Group.
