Club events

We welcome all cyclists to our club events, from novices to experienced racing cyclists, members or non-members.

Please take a moment to read the instructions below, before scrolling for more information on events, dates, courses, etc.

It is compulsory to have a working rear and front light on your bike to ride time trials or hill climbs. Also, all competitors must wear a properly affixed helmet which must be of hard/soft shell construction and should conform to a recognised Standard.

Parental consent is required for under 18’s (minimum age, 12), renewed each season. Parental consent forms are available at each event. The form needs to be signed by a parent or guardian and witnessed by a club official, which is best done at the event.

Len Eyre Series events start at 7-00 pm. Sign-in from 6-30.

£3 for club members, £5 for non-members

NB: club members can pay a single payment of £20 to ride all 12 events  – Please make event organiser aware in advance should you wish to take up this offer  

Len Eyre evening Time Trial Series

This series of 12 events run on Tuesday evenings from May through to July and are an ideal introduction to competition. Your best six handicap results in the series will count towards the Len Eyre Trophy. We also have ‘scratch’ trophies for fastest man and woman over six events.

Len Eyre time trials are reverting back to the Fairfield Common circuit, ‘Start outside Waterswallows substation, opposite Buxton Mineral Water Plant. Proceed in an anti-clockwise direction along Waterswallows Lane, Batham Gate Road, A6, Waterswallows Road, Waterswallows Lane, to pass the start point and repeat for two more laps. Finish at the start area. Nominally 9 miles. Parking and signing-on point outside the entrance to the Recycling Centre –12 EVENTS OVER 13 WEEKS  start on 6th MAY and then every Tuesday until 29th July.

Monyash time trial

The Monyash time trial is 2 laps of a short hilly course and 8.4 miles in total. This is a once a year event, on 5th August. COURSE MAP

Club Hill Climbs

A series of three local hill climbs in August, your combined placings over the three events counts for the Three Hills Championship.

1:  Route 1 – Peak Forest on 12th Aug

2: Route 2 – Bole Hill – This will incorporate the Club Championship on 19th Aug

3: Route 3 – Worm Hill on 26th Aug

Karl Austin Memorial Interclub Shield

24th June 2025

This is a team event run on the JC24 course which is Chelford based. It is a team event, with the winning club being the one with the fastest aggregate time for a team of four riders, two male and two female.

Long Hill Hill Climb

2nd Sept 6:30pm start
