Event Sponsors for the Buxton Mountain Time Trial

In addition to the sponsorship of the series by Knight Composites who will give prizes of pairs of carbon fibre wheels to overall winners in what is now the "Knight Composites Classic Series", Buxton Cycling Club has had a set of valued sponsors for our event for the last few years and all joined us again for 2018.
For a fourth year for the 2018 event, by Hotel Milano Helvetia, Riccione in Italy (http://www.hotelmilano.net/), one of the town's famous "Bike Hotels".
Detail Design Engineering Limited (http://www.detail-design.co.uk/) have sponsored the event very generously for a number of years, ensuring that we again have one of the best cash prize lists in UK time trialling.
Sett Valley Cycles (http://www.settvalleycycles.co.uk/) the Buxton CC club sponsor will contribute prizes of products from the shop. Sponsor in 2015, 2016 and 2017 the Old Wooden Spoon Bakery (https://www.facebook.com/theoldwoodenspoon)also re-joined us with their popular cake prizes.
We should once again have an excellent prize list but watch this space for more developments!

Hotel Milano Helvetia

George Evans in Riccione
George Evans, 2018 Men's winner, enjoying his prize Italian holiday at Hotel Milano Helvetia, Riccione. With Steve Myers (Bike Guide) and Emiliano Carlini (Hotel Manager).

The hotel will be giving 2 five day stays at the hotel on their "Plus" package for cyclists, one for the winner of the Men's event and one for the winner of the Women's event. During their stay, the package will give our winners bed, breakfast, evening meal and post-ride afternoon buffet along with the assistance of a guide to show them the best local routes (with the hotel's other guests of course). The prizes don't include air fares but many UK airports have budget routes to destinations in north eastern Italy which allow easy transfers to the hotel by bus, train or taxi. Bike hire is available at the hotel. The stay can, of course, be extended at the very reasonable rates offered by the hotel. The Hotel Milano Helvetia will, in addition, be offering a 10% reduction on the cost of their stay (excluding extras like bike hire and bar bills, of course) to ALL ENTRANTS to the event!

"I have already been to the hotel for 13 years in a row and think the prices offer fantastic value even without the discount, so please email me for an enthusiastic recommendation!", Steve I'Anson (Buxton CC)

Detail Design Engineering Ltd.

Unequalled expertise has earned Detail Design Engineering an enviable reputation across a broad spectrum of private and public sector clients for the design, installation and maintenance of building management systems:
"Imagine a building with a management system that makes a real difference... a building that maximises its own energy efficiency; a building that can measure and refine a room’s air quality; a building that maintains even temperature, humidity and pressure throughout despite the outside climate. Imagine a building that knows when the light outside is fading and automatically adjusts the internal lighting; a building that creates an environment of comfort, safety and productivity. We all have dreams but this one is very much a reality in today’s world of advanced technology. We should know. After all, it is our business."

Sett Valley Cycles

Sett Valley Cycles is the Buxton CC club sponsor, supporting us in many ways in addition to their prizes for the Buxton Mountain TT. Sett Valley Cycles is a traditional style bike shop situated in the heart of New Mills on the edge of the Peak District, one of the most spectacular areas in the country for both road and mountain biking. They have a professional workshop catering for virtually all types of repairs. They specialise in lightweight road equipment but stock a good range of accessories for all types of cycling. Why not call in to see the bikes and shiny kit and have a chat with proprietor Sam Clark over an espresso?

The Old Wooden Spoon Bakery

The Old Wooden Spoon Bakery is a new venture by club member Louise Clark which produces home made cakes, jams and other preserves for sale in local outlets including Sett Valley Cycles, Henshalls Butchers and Tea On The Green cafe in Chinley. Louise will be offering cakes as prizes but only on the day so make sure you stay for the presentations.
